Favorite Quote: “You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Hi everyone! I’m Mr. Hernandez. This is my 19th year in the classroom and my 13th here at Umoja International Academy. I absolutely love my colleagues here on campus and truly enjoy working with our students as they become young adults in our global community!
29 years in SCUSD seems like a lifetime. Looking back I sort of fell into my job. My life has span two different countries and a many adventures in which laughter is always involved. Many of the young lives I have seen come through KCIA are now moms and dads in their own rights. I’m suppose to write a bit about myself in just a few lines. How do you explain in a few lines a lifetime? Family has always been important to me even the cats I love which I am highly allergic too.
